It's gonna take awhile to get used to that image. Hardwood Paroxysm has one of the best viewpoints of what the Gasol trade truly means for the future of the Memphis Grizzlies.
Chad Ford (ESPN Insider) lists 10 teams he thinks could have provided a trade for Gasol that would have been as good as what the Lakers were offering.
The Blowtorch has a suggestion for the Grizzlies' new lineup:
Busts and Boobies.
Hoopsworld lists the Grizzlies among its "
Coldest Teams of January". That's not a good thing, I can assure you.
Which of Chad Ford's other proposals appeals to you the most? Or are you satisfied with the Lakers deal?
ReplyDelete...just tuned into the Laker vs Nets game & right away there's our man with the ball doing his patented (& much feared) pendulum swing about 10 feet from the basket.
ReplyDelete[time shift to 7 seconds later...] He makes his move towards the baseline and wtf? The whistle blows and I suddenly realize the one thing that's gonna change dramatically for Gasol.
He's gonna start getting calls like he's never gotten before. If there's a stat to measure it I'd love to see how much more 'respect' he gets from the ref's now. He may still check for blood just as often. but I predict he won't get caught as often crying to the ref while his man is sprinting down to the other end for a layup.
i think chad ford's trade proposals are a bunch of crap...
ReplyDelete--most teams wouldn't even agree to those deals.
--the bulls deal puts them in lux tax, which is why they said no
--no playoff team (like the spurs or warriors) will trade 7 players for 1
--the heat would rather get MORE cap space than trade theirs off
--getting brand or marion (who can both opt out) wouldn't fit the new, young make up of the team
--no way toronto trades bargs for pau
--did I mention no team will trade 7 players for only 1?
